Our Tour guide was i believe Richard with the little beard.
He gave a Captivating guide through whitechapel and you
couldnt get bored with his delivery of the facts.
would definately do it again and probably will for halloween.

Thanks steve your story telling was so captivating, we felt that we had been transported back to those dismal times when the ripper prowled the cobbled streets, hunting out his next victim! |

This was the second time I had joined the Ripping Yarns tour & it was just as good as the first time. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a little exercise coupled with a thrilling history lesson.
I dare you to deny that it gives you goosebumps!
Thank you Dickie for a wonderful evening. |

We took the tour on Sat 26th July and Dicky was our guide.
The tour was great and it's well worth the money. (I actually payed more than the 7 pounds since I was so impressed with Dicky) |

I have to admit to being a bit skeptical at first, but soon found myself completely enthralled. Ken did an excellent job, was both informative and entertaining. Seven pounds for an evenings good entertainment and education, with a good after dinner walk thrown in is possibly the best value thing I have done in London. Being a full moon helped the atmosphere too :-) Keep up the excellent work! |

we went on the Ripper tour on 5th September on a very wet night! Despite this, the tour guide kept us thoroughly entertained. He had a really in depth knowledge not just of the Ripper but also the history of London. Steve was our guide and he really is a terrific person and so well informed we forgot we were soaking! |

We absolutley loved the tour and presentation from dickie, We couldn't stop talking about the whole tour days and weeks after walking around all the historic jack the ripper sights in the olde east end, we have recommended it to everyone we know, If your coming to London you have to make sure you do the ripper tour, As a trip to London wouldn't be the same without it, Dickie was excellent with his insight and knowledge and also entertaining, Thanks Dickie! |

I was in London last week and decided to check out this tour. It was great! Dickie was our guide and he did a fantastic job of bringing the Whitechapel murders to life. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that wants to learn some history on Jack or London itself and hear some stories that will stay with you for an awfully long time. |

Many Thanks to Dickie for a very entertaining, detailed and insighful visit to Victorian London! Even after a long day's shopping in the West End, Dickie's rendition of events kept us gripped and our achy legs were soon forgotten! We will definately be recomending this tour to all our family and friends! |
16 August 2008 |
Alexi P., London
Thanks heaps for a nice evening ! Our guides' skillfully told anecdotes surrounding the series of murders committed by Jack the Ripper around Whitechapel, along with visits of the sites and period illustrations of the murder scenes and living conditions paint a wonderfully gruesome picture of the mysterious series of crimes and the circumstances under which they were committed. It struck me to which extent the social divide and the notoriously bad life of the lowest social ranks that set the scene for the murders, also seem to be characterising London to this day. Or was this perhaps the intended morale?

Thanks to Kev for our tour on the 8th August. Despite the corny jokes it was a very informative and interesting tour. We
would not have tried the walk on our own and being in some of the older locations made the story come to life. |

Had tour from Simon on the evening of the 7th of August and cannot fault any part of the tour. Excellent value for money, very informative not only about Jack the Ripper but also about the East End, just the right amount of people and the presentation was of an extremely high standard.
Thanks for an exceptionally enjoyable evening. |

Our guide was Steve, an animated and theatrical man who greeted us well before he took us on a journey from West to East (the East end of London to be exact). Together we retraced the murder path of the infamous JACK!!! The evening culminating in discovering the true identity of this sick and vicious murderer. Thanks for a great evening. |

Excellent Tour. No bookings, no hassles, very reasonable price. We found Kevin to be a lively guide that made the experience an enjoyable one, whilst also throwing in some bad jokes.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this to friends for their future travels. |

When I told my cousin I was coming to England for a visit and that I would like to spend a few days of my visit in London I told her that I didn't care if I saw nothing else in London as long as I got to do a Jack the Ripper tour. I left it in her hands to look in to tours and book the one she thought was best. She did not disappoint.
We went on the tour tonight with Simon as our guide. As soon as he started talking to us, I knew I'd met him earlier in the day. He was also my guide at the Tower of London. He did not disappoint with either one. He left us laughing many a time tonight and made us jump a few times too.
I would definitely recommend the Ripping Yarn Tours to anyone who wants to learn more about Jack the Ripper.
Thanks Simon for making my last night in London a very memorable one, and teaching me more about Jack the Ripper! |

Kristy, London, England
Just arrived home from an evening with Simon, and I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend a Thursday night! The tour was entertaining and very informative, and I have never been so pleased to be compared to a fence! The added bonus of a colourful local just made the whole evening more enjoyable.
Thank you very much Simon, for making my cousin's final evening in London the most memorable of the whole trip! |

Chris was our guide. I'd been told by a friend at work not to miss this tour as it was really good. We were not disappointed. Chris built up the suspense wonderfully. Every street corner had its piece of history. We had two young children with us and he let us know when we needed to cover their delicate ears. 2 hours not to miss while in London. Great tour. |

Paul + Mel, Tilbury, Essex
We went Sat 26th July and had Dicky,
We started at 6:50 and it went on till 9:20
If you ever want a very funny, very informed guide please make sure you ask for a day when hes giving the tour, you wont be disapointed!
Like somebody a few comments below me said, we passed loads of other groups, some had headsets and speakers and some were in huge groups, some seemed to be running around like headless chickens, but none seemed to have the charm and charisma of Dicky!
He seemed wise and very chatty. one minute he would get creepy and we would all be spooked, the next we were laughing :)! we would walk for a few mins then he would stop and give a little talk, always waiting for people to catch up and it never felt rushed at all, he often asked if we had any questions and asked us what our views / opions were. he was full of intresting facts about london in general as we were going round its a full tour of the east end not just the ripper murders!
I would really recomend the dicky tour to anybody, when we got home everybody we told about the tour wanted to go!
My partner Mel also agreed that for £7 you really cannot find a better night out in london, ive been to 3 'top' shows and this tour kocked spots off them easily.
In short - Top night out !

I went on the tour on the 25 of July. It was a great tour. Our tour guide Dickie was Excellent. He was funny and he really made you think about who done it. The tour group wasn't to big so your able to hear everything. And at the end of the tour he drops you off right at the tube station. I recommend this tour to everybody. |

Thank you Simon Dodds for a thoroughly entertaining and informative evening. Our group was still discussing who the culprit was after the walk. Although the weather was poor Simon conducted the tour with humour, intrigue and style. Really pleased we came with your company, thoroughly professional. Special thanks Simon, a great end to the day. |

George, Los Angeles
Did the tour (Jul22 ) with Chris. Only 15 or so on the tour which made it very personal. Chris still has his parade ground voice and bearing so no problem hearing or understanding. He was witty and informative. We passed other tours with hordes of people and weak voiced guides. This was my second time on the tour. Believe me, this is the tour to take! For seven quid (and only if you are satisfied) you get to hear a great and terrifying story from a genuine beefeater! |

Dicky was amazing. My friends and I enjoyed the tour so much, and have been suggesting it to all our friends in our summer program. It was totally worth it for us to go to (we came all the way from Oxford for the evening just to go!). Great information, very amusing, and even though a lot of walking we didn't mind at all! |

Fantastic tour on 16th of July. we've been on tours like this before but this was way ahead of the rest, I learnt more about whitechapel and the area and about the murders on this tour than any other.
Dickie was the guy that took us around that evening and he was great, he chatted to almost everyone and told us little known facts and sayings. great night and well worth £7 each well done.

Lindsay & Richard, Ipswich (now London)
After living in Whitechapel for sometime and being aware of the Jack Ripper connection with the area, we finally got around to taking the tour - it was well worth the wait!
Our tour guide Dickie was awaiting our arrival and we set off bang on time. Dickies charisma and knowledge immediately drew us in and took us back in time to 1888. Suddenly the streets we had walked down on a dialy basis took on a whole new light and will never be the same again!
A great evening that doesnt cost the earth. A good way to get out and about in London. Fantastic delivery from Dickie; brought this old tale back to life. Thanks. |

I have been living in London for a year and have always wanted to do the tour. I wish I didn't wait so long. It was brilliant.
I am tempted to go and do it again!
Dicky was our tour guide he's brilliant. He really knows his stuff. His knowledge (of the ripper and London), combined with presentation style and humour really made the tour.
I didn't know anything about Jack the Ripper before, but there were people on the tour who knew lots and I think we were all catered for.
A definite must!

We stumbled across this tour by accident, but so glad we did!
After a great day at the Tower, we were just entering the tube station to return home when we noticed Dickie gathering a crowd.
I've always been interested in Jack the Ripper, but Dickie really brought the story to life. He was full of information and really seemed to know the details and locations.
I would definately recommend this tour, was a great end to a great day! |

Steve was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.
The tour was great and we were very surprised how many of the little cobble streets and original buildings are still there today within the shadow of the city. We had a great time and plan another tour later on in the year. I been on many tours and this was one of the best tours to date.
Thanks. Christine and Ian

Jennifer Cardona --EF TOURS FLORIDA GROUP!, Orlando, FL
Where to I begin...
It was part of our personal itinerary that we MUST go on this tour when we got to London. To our pleasant surprise we had Dickie as our tour guide for this WONDERFUL AND SCARY trip down history's past.
He took the groups on this specific tour around White Chapel, all of EF TOUR's from Florida [my group!], Alabama, and Idaho but made the experience just as intimate as if dealing with a small group.
He was SO amazing, entertaining, knowledgeable, and made our experience everything we had been hoping for. This was an American group that wanted to go to this infamous tour and was not disappointed! So professional and focused on retelling these stories, and so much fun! I can't say enough about Dickie!
We ended up running into him also at the Tower Of London, and he was so kind and welcoming. He never forgot our faces! I hope he will read this, because really, he made The Jack the Ripper tour the HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP!
If you want to be scared and educated on the terrifying history of Jack the Ripper and if you're in London, go to this tour and REQUEST DICKIE!! HE'S AWESOME! |

I was on the Saturday tour with Dickie and it was excellent. My feet killed by the end of it! But it was really interesting, building on a topic I was already interested in and had a little knowledge about. I certainly feel more connected to the real people now! Thanks. |

Christie Vanderloh, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada
I went on the April 13th tour with Steve. I found it to be very interesting, informative and entertaining as well. Steve did a wonderful job of painting a vivid picture of life in 1880's London and the sort of lives the women who were Jack's victims lived. I will be recommending this tour to anyone who goes to London. |
22 April 2008 |
Anne & Brianne, Bolton
Did the tour on Sunday 21 April with Chris. Was worried about picking the wrong tour as I booked on the internet and had no recommendations. Didn't need to! Tour, and Chris, was great. Very informative, and fun, and burnt off lots of calories! Saw other, very large, bored looking groups traipsing round and soooooooo glad I picked this one. Will certainly recommend to anyone visiting London. Thanks Chris for transporting us back in time to 1888, see I did learn something 'in the nick of time', and bringing us safely back to Tower Hill and 2008. |

Steve was brilliant. Very funny guy (we'll ignore the odd bomb here and there).
Great tour. Well-described and informative.
Don't worry about the unresponsiveness of the group.
That's no reflection on the great job you did mate.
Will keep an eye out for you in the Tower. |
02 April 2008 |
AdamD , Oakland, CA
The tour I took, led by Dickie, was the highlight of my trip to London. I was a little apprehensive about going on a walking tour, but the fact that you pay up after the tour set me at ease. Totally blew me away. The length of the tour (two hours), the neighborhoods I wouldn't have thought to explore, and his telling of the story all made for a top notch experience. I went on a Haunted London walk from another group a few days later and it didn't measure up at all.
This is by far the best. |

Q. What do you do on a cold easter friday evening.
A. Go on a Jack the Ripper Tour.
Yes it was cold and dark, all the better for visiting the east end of london. We can assure you that this tour is well worth it, our guide Ken was excellent. He gave us the full low down on Jack and put in some extras. we will be back to go again and visit the Tower of London at the same time. A+++ |
24 March 2008 |
Ali, Whitechapel
3 years living in Whitechapel, drinking on occasion at the Ten Bells, dodging the odd rat and having several overseas friends telling me I should do this tour...What a brilliant evening! (although cold)
Kev was a fountain of interesting knowledge and the jokes - not too bad!
I will definitely be recommending THIS tour to others -especially in the summer.
Thanks |

Rachel & John Fenwick, Shropshire/Durham
Mark was outstanding as a guide. Of all the comments he states at the start of his tour, "fun" is definitely the word of the evening. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer, and his enthusiasm for the subject was infectious. We were so impressed, we diverted from our itinery the next day to see him in his usual garb as Yeoman Warder. Highly recommended. Can't imagine any other tour would be as thorough or as entertaining. |

Visited London a few weeks ago and went on the tour with Mark (of the Awesome Hat). Very informative and very professional. He knew how to keep the group together and safe, how to address everyone, how to get his information across, and was over all very entertaining and interesting. To all my friends visiting London, I'm suggesting they check out your tour. |

I went on one of your tours several years ago - the tour guide was a retired Beefeater and it was an excellent evening which I thoroughly enjoyed. At the time I'd been reading a lot of Ripper books and as we walked I found it fascinating to run some of the theories off the well-informed guide.
A couple of years ago I decided to try another tour, this time with a certain company who do tours and have a thick white leaflet. Not only was the magic not there, the guide aloof and appearing to be working to a script but when the tour ended I was abandoned somewhere in the middle of Whitechapel... it took me ages to find my way back to a tube station.
So be warned those who go for the other because their leaflet is everywhere - you'll be getting an inferior product. |

Dickie,
Don't be going to Cork now...Kerry is far superior.
Twas an amazing experience, we were enthralled by your awesome presence. We're all too scared to walk the streets of London now, due to your intense story telling!
Catch us if you can...............mwhahahahahahaha

On the afternoon of 4th February I took 27 of my History GCSE students, all aged 15, on the tour. Our guide was Kevin and he was fantastic; the students were totally engrossed and thoroughly loved the whole experience. I have highly recommended this tour to many friends and colleagues, it was sooooo good! I will definitely return next year with another group of students as I have written in into the scheme of work as an essential educational visit. Thanks a million Kevin, even if your 'jokes' were a bit suspect! |

A bit overdue in writing about our tour with Kevin....It was absolutely wonderful. We realize that Kevin does the tours, probably in his sleep, however, he gave us a tour as if it was his 1st with excitement and enthusiasm. With a group of 15 or so..it was ideal...We passed several large groups along the way who looked quite bored. They were not able to hear the guides who appeared to be lackluster and rote.......Thanks, Kevin...Have a great pic of you and the tour @ home.....

Did the tour on Thursday 7th with Dickie as the guide. A well conducted and informative tour from a Beefeater who is knowledgeable and has a quick witted sense of humour.
Although we really came for the Tut Exhibition at the O2 the tour was the highlight of the break.
I will recommend the tour to everyone plus include website links to anyone who is interested. Will definately do the tour next time we are back.
Thank you for for a great evening. |

Sunday 10th February. We had Dickie as our guide, he was great, full of information, both about Jack and other parts of london.
It was an amazing experience to walk along cobbled streets knowing that Jack had once walked those same streets looking for victims.
I can fully reccomend the walk, wear some comfy shoes and enjoy the experience. |

What a great night! I went last Sunday the 10th. Dickie was a seasoned professional and certainly knew his stuff. Trying not to put people off but I didnt get a good night's sleep afterwards, maybe it was the picture Dickie painted that made my blood turn to ice. Well worth it |

We did our tour on Monday 10th December. Our guide for the evening was an informative Mark. It was a very interesting tour with extra bits of 'gossip' thrown in as well.
Mark, it appears you are right, your not mentioned much on the guest book - perhaps you need to continue torturing more of your guests to get mentioned!
Good value for money, good fun, highly recommended.

I went on this tour with Dickie almost a week ago, and I was so busy traveling I didn't get a chance to fill out this form. I must say it was amazing though! I had a great time, and learned a lot. It was a good sized group, so I was able to hear everything clearly. Also, Dickie did a great job of pointing out other random spots of importance, such as Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter movies. Thanks a ton! I've recommended this tour for several of my friends, and I will possibly be returning with my mom in a few weeks. :) |
